Here is what previous guests have said about staying at Forester's Lodge. Fantastic stay May 15-23 What can I say other than one of the best self catering places we have ever booked. Lesley is outstandingly helpful and friendly. The house is superb - spacious (there was 8 of us), we loved that you could either be together playing games etc. or find yourself a quiet spot to relax. It was also up to date with appliances etc. but had the charm of a countryside home. The location is stunning, fantastic walks and views on your doorstep and many other wonderful places not far away in the car. We would definitely love to return and highly recommend. Posted by Julia on 04 June 2010 Perfect Retreat This is one of those moments in life when you toy with your conscience - do you give a bad review and keep the place a secret for yourself or do you let everyone else in on the secret? This is one of the best holidays I've had. The lodge is on the edge of a forest and as soon as you get to the road end you drive along the banks of the loch in either direction. Due to changes in weather and light the scenery never looks the same twice. The lodge is fantastic. It is spotlessly clean, has a warm and friendly feel and has absolutely everything you need. We have a 2 year old and he was over the moon with all the toys inside and out to play with. The lovely decked area and conservatory make it a great place to relax after days out sightseeing. I would highly recommend this to anyone as a great place to get away from it all. Lesley couldn't be more helpful when booking and planning the trip and the welcome pack on arrival is a sight for sore eyes and much appreciated. Ps Birdwatchers will be in heaven - we saw everything from a snow bunting (cairngorm) to osprey (2 miles from house) to Slavonian Grebe (Loch Ruthven)What a trip! Posted by Mrs Louise McKenna on 09 May 2010 Great stay This house is in an excellent position along the banks of Loch Ness, easy to get to, but secluded at the same time. The house has excellent furnishings, with plenty of room for 10 people to stay (although there was only 6 of us). There are lovely walks in the forest, and if you go right to the top, the scenery over the Loch is out of this world. There is plenty to see and do, even if you are willing to travel as far afield as Aviemore.(On top of the Cairngorm mountain on a sunny day, is a must) I would highly recomend The Dores Inn for a meal out,(approx 8 miles towards Inverness) excellent value for money and very tasty (but phone and book first as it gets very busy), and once you have eaten, you can sit outside and enjoy the spectacular scenery over the Loch, or take a walk on the beach. Hoping to return for another stay sometime next year. Posted by Andy Mc Murdo on 08 May 2010 03-10 April 2010 We had the most fantastic holiday this easter. The house is absolutely beautiful and clean and so well equipped. There was plenty of room for us all and the little one was in heaven with all the toys and games and the older ones with the wii and separate games room. We went for lots of relaxing walks, the scenery is stunning. We would definitely like to re-visit. Lesley could not have been more helpful in arranging the holiday and we thank her for all her help.
Lovely forest walks from the doorstep in all directions and spectacular, scenic drives to other locations.
Eating out we enjoyed some meals at the Dores Inn and in Inverness at the Snowgoose.
Looking forward to a return visit.
